Sunrise hike at Cathedral Rock, in the Mt. Charleston Wildness.
What:
Intermediate hike through Mt. Charleston ponderosa pines! 3 miles, and 1000 feet of elevation gain. Should take around ~2 hours to 3 hours total, with a nice sunrise view of the valley.
Where:
Meeting at CLB-1 to carpool at 3:30 AM, hoping to get to the trailhead around ~4:30. Driving to Cathedral Rock trailhead in Mt. Charleston Wildness.
Weather:
Should be in the upper 50's and dry, so moderate layers (pants, t-shirt and a jacket) should be perfect. Once the sun rises, the temperature should go up as well.
